Introduction

Serenity Massage Therapies was set up by myself Jo Wilkins. I decided to retrain in therapeutic massage to help provide effective treatment for individuals. Having had numerous massages over the years by poorly trained therapists, I would often leave a treatment still feeling achy and stiff, full of knots in my shoulders and therefore wasted a lot of time and money. I wanted to establish a business offering high standard of treatments which actually work & get rid of tension, knotted muscles and aches/pains. I started my initial training at Devon Academy (which has the reputation of being one of the best massage training providers in the country) covering ITEC Level 3 in Therapeutic Massage/Swedish Massage/Body Massage- which was very thorough. I have gone on to expand my knowledge and experience further with other treatments from other training providers and by continuing to train/study and explore new techniques. If I can help improve someones day by getting rid of their aches & pains then that is a good result for me! I am a Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and have certificates/qualifications for all the massage treatments provided. I have also been qualified in Allergy testing since 2005 (DIP BER).

Targeted Deep Tissue Massage

The perfect massage for knots, sore muscles and specific areas that need concentrated therapy/treatment. Trigger pointing and other appropriate techniques are used to massage the problem

areas. Soothing oils and warming balm are used to relax the muscles & tight areas after treatment. If you need work on specific tight muscles & areas of tension (maybe due to injury, strains, over worked muscles or postural problems) A Deep Tissue /Targeted Deep Tissue Massage is for you.

Exfoliating Scrub is applied to the back, followed by a hot towel cleanse, then a deep massage to ease tight back, neck & shoulder muscles.

Dry body brushing session to improve circulation and cellulite appearance whilst boosting the immune system, followed by an exfoliating back scrub and hot towel cleanse, followed by a full body Massage including head and scalp.

Thai Foot Massage

A truly relaxing & therapeutic treatment on the lower legs and feet. Similar principles to reflexology. It combine different massage techniques & utilises acupressure points to stimulate, relax & revitalise the body.

Acupressure/Seated Chair Massage

From £50

Seated acupressure massage (sometimes also called on-site massage) is based on the traditional Japanese acupressure technique called anma. Anma is Japanese for ‘press and rub’ and this therapy aims to stimulate the acupressure points in the head, neck, shoulders, spine and lower back using the hands/arms. On-site or Seated Acupressure massage is an immediate stress buster, working to relieve tired aching muscles.

Indian Head Massage

Carried out either seated or laying down- A deeply relaxing hands-on treatment working on the upper shoulders, arms, neck, head and scalp with or without oils. The pressure is light but highly effective for reducing stress and tension.

Highly relaxing & stress relieving massage in comfortable supported positions appropriate to your needs, with yours and your unborn baby's welfare in mind. The massage is targeting to work on the main areas of tension during pregnancy – Back, neck, shoulders, legs and feet.
